ARTIFACT: Lovely circa 1907 Hotel Thorndike in Boston Massachusetts bead plate by Wedgwood. The nicely detailed plate has a center that depicts two griffin-like creatures holding a shield topped with a crown and beneath a banner reads: “HOTEL THORNDIKE”, all details are done in green. The underside of the plate shows maker’s impressions and also reads: “MADE FOR HOTEL THORNDIKE BOSTON RICHARD BRIGGS CO. BY JOSIAH WEDGWOOD & SONS LTD. ETRURIA: ENGLAND”
