ARTIFACT:
This is a late WWII VT-75 Torpedo Squadron Patch and Lot. The patches were manufactured and set to mail years ago but never got mailed. Fifty or so turned up about ten years ago and this is one. Included in the lot is a magazine with an article on the history of this patch. The patch shows a hawk riding a missile over the globe.
VINTAGE:
Circa late WWII.
SIZE:
Patch: About 6-1/8 in width by 5-3/4" in height; List: About 8-1/2" in width by 14" in height; Magazine: About 8-1/2" in width by 11" in height, soft cover with approx. 72 pages; Patch: About 9-1/2" in width by 12-1/2" in height.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Patch: Cotton embroidery thread on wool felt; List, magazine and enevelope: printed paper (magazine bound w/ 3 staples).
ATTACHMENT:
Patch: To be sewn onto garment.

10 (Mint as new): Patch has never been used; the list is a photo copy, the magazine is slightly worn at the edges and the envelope is worn at the edges.
