This is a great World War II United States Navy VT-5 "Torpcats" jacket patch. The squadron served aboard the USS Yorktown CV-14 from April 1943 through April 1944 and on the USS Franklin CV-13 in February and March 194The patch is a deep red shows a maniacal cat riding a missile and throttling some unfortunate creature.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 4-1/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Twill embroidered in silk/cotton threads with a mesh backing.
MARKINGS:BURNS written on reverse.
