ARTIFACT: This is a circa late World War II patch-type distinctive insignia for the United States Army Air Forces 1st Air Force. The insignia is a winged star with a number one above.

VINTAGE: Circa late World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 7/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAX12 LDEX11/12 SDEX05/20

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI shows some small spots of wear to the reverse only.
