This is a circa late World War II patch-type distinctive insignia for the United States Army Air Forces 15th Air Force. The insignia is a winged star with the number 15 above.
VINTAGE:
Circa late World War II.
SIZE:
Approximately 15/16" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gilt brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
