Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa late World War II patch-type distinctive insignia for the United States 7th Army. The blue insignia shows a capital A in red and gold shaped like a Mayan ruin with seven steps on each leg of the letter. The insignia is by N. S. Meyer Inc.

VINTAGE:

Circa late World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 13/16" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

N. S. MEYER INC. N.Y.C., raised maker's mark.
