ARTIFACT:

This is a circa late World War II patch-type distinctive insignia for the United States Army 1st Infantry Division, also known as "The Big Red One". The insignia is a red number one against an olive drab background.

VINTAGE:

Circa late World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 3/4"in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch (swivel part of catch missing).

MARKINGS:

None.

ITEM NOTES:

This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAX12 LCCX11/12 SCBX4/14

CONDITION:

7- (Very Fine-): The DI shows light wear along edge; swivel part of catch missing.
