This is a late 1980s submarine patch for the USS Richard B. Russell (SSN-687). The Richard B. Russell was launched at Newport News, Virginia on January 12, 197She was decommissioned on June 24, 199The patch shows a sub passing over the State of Georgia, Senator Russell's home state.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1980s.
SIZE:Approximately 4-13/16" in height and 3-7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cotton embroidered in cotton/polyester threads.
