ARTIFACT:

This is a circa late 1970s patch for the United States Navy Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 111 (VAW-111), also known as the "Gray Berets". The patch was made in Okinawa and shows a hunter with a bow and arrow walking among the clouds.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1970s.

SIZE:

Approximately 5-1/4" in height and 4-7/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester thread, muslin backing.

ATTACHMENT:

None.

MARKINGS:

"6" handwritten on reverse.
