Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa named Naval Commander's hat by Bancroft. The hat has a large eagle and anchor badge on the front and bullion embroidery across the visor. The name label inside reads ERNEST ROLAND GOODWIN COMMANDER CIVIL ENGINEER CORPS. UNITED STATES NAVAL RESERVE RETIRED.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1950s.

SIZE:

No size tag: approximate size 7 1/2.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Cotton/nylon, gilt and plated brass, bullion embroidery, brass, leather, vinyl, wool felt, elasticized cotton.

ATTACHMENT:

Chin strap.

MARKINGS:

BANCROFT UNIFORM MENSWEAR RCO; name label (see above).
