This is a cool late 1940s contestant helmet for the Chevrolet Turret Top Soap Box Derby, billed as "The Greatest Amateur Racing Event in the World". The helmet has a great, large decal on the front is made from the liner of a World War II GI helmet.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1940s.
SIZE:Height: approximately 6"; head opening: 9" by 8".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Aluminum, leather, canvas, decal.
ATTACHMENT:Chin strap.
MARKINGS:Unreadable mark on canvas strap.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The helmet has some spots of light to moderate wear; some rusting to buckles.
