Description
This is a circa 1940s fiberglass fire helmet bearing the letters PMFD (possibly for Point Mugu Fire Department). The original owner of this helmet served in the United States Navy during World War II, so the potential for this helmet to be from the Point Mugu Naval Air Station is considerable. The helmet does not have a liner and has a partial manufacturer tag inside with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania information.
