Description
This is a circa 1940s retired captain's badge from the Keyport, New Jersey Fire Department. The badge is engraved on reverse with the recipient's name, and a record of his years with the department, which was interrupted by service in World War II. The front of the badge has a faint Hook & Ladder Company number in enamel.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-9/16" in height and 1-3/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass, blue enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:CHRIS THURER 1939-1941 1944-1946.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some light wear with a few tiny nicks to the enamel and minor tarnishing; minor oxidation on catch.
