This is a circa 1980s United States Navy USS Blueback SS-581 pocket patch. Launched May 16, 1959, the Blueback was decommissioned in 1990. The patch is large, and shows a submarine sailing over two fish and an anchor.
VINTAGE:Circa 1980s.
SIZE:About 5-1/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cotton embroidery thread on wool felt, cotton backing.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto garment.
MARKINGS:None.
