Description
This is a great large circa 1940s Bowie knife with an aluminum handle in the form of a snake eating its own tail. The panels of the knife are acid-etched: one side reads "Mexico" and the other reads "Soy amigo de los pobres" (I am a friend of the poor). It comes in a tooled leather scabbard stamped MEXICO.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 13-1/8" in length and 2-1/2" in width; blade: 8-3/8" by 1-1/2".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Aluminum handle, steel, leather.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:"Mexico" and "Soy amigo de los pobres" (I am a friend of the poor) acid-etched upon panels; MEXICO on scabbard.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The knife has some spots of light wear; scabbard is unstitched near the end.
