Description
This is a Civil War era bowie knife with a bone handle and an etched blade that reads "Rough & Ready". The knife has its original (partial) scabbard and is by A. Hobson and Sons of Sheffield, a firm that operated from 1837 until 187It bears the "Current" tradename.
VINTAGE:Circa Civil War.
SIZE:Approximately 11-5/16" in length and 2-1/16" in width; blade only: approximately 6-1/8" in length and 1-1/16" in width; scabbard: 1-5/16' in width and 5-9/16" in length.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Steel, bone, brass, silver-plated nickel fittings, leather and brass scabbard.
ATTACHMENT:Frog on scabbard.

CONDITION:6- (Fine): The knife has a crack on the handle and moderate to heavy abrasions to the blade; the scabbard is partial and has a hole in the end and heavy wear.
