ARTIFACT: This is a Japanese-made unofficial DI or lapel pin for the United States 6127th Air Terminal Group. Part of the 315th Air Division, which was formed in 1951, the 6127th ran air terminals for United Nations forces throughout the Western Pacific, including Korea. This group later became 7th Aerial Port Squadron in late 1953. The pin is pentagonal in multi-colored enamel with one wing reading 6127 A.T.G. and has a Deco style to it.

VINTAGE: Circa 1952.

SIZE: Approximately 1/2" in height and 13/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass, plated brass, hard-fired enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Air Force collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX99 LAGEX6/11

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The pin shows some small spots of light wear and medium tarnish with slight crazing to the wing tip.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
