ARTIFACT: Wonderful and huge ca 1952 Korean War United States Air Force 474th Fighter Bomber Group Japanese-made jacket patch. The 474th was first established during WWII and was reactivated during the Cold War, stationed initially at Misawa Air Base before being relocated to Kunsan Air Base. The 474th Fighter Bomber Group entered combat during 1952 and was engaged in bombing missions that destroyed bridges, bunkers, and troop strongholds. They were also effective in identifying and controlling artillery positions and many other vital targets. The 474th received the Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. The patch shows the 474th Fighter Bomber Group emblem in red, white, blue, and yellow embroidered detail and along the bottom reads: "474TH FIGHTER BOMBER GROUP" in black.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The jacket patch shows minor to moderate wear, some scrapbooking residue on reverse, colors remain bright, overall excellent condition.
