ARTIFACT: Korean War, circa 1952 United States Air Force and United States Navy Escape and Evasion reflective life raft paddle. The paddle is painted blue with reflective paint on one side, a piece of canvas strap is riveted to the wooden handle. The handle shows the patent #: DWG "45D18813" and the reverse reads: "IN CASE OF NIGHT RESCUE ONE SURFACE OF THE BLADE HAS BEEN REFLECTORIZED. HOLD TREATED SIDE OF BLADE TOWARD SEARCHLIGHT TO SHOW YOUR LOCATION"

VINTAGE: Circa 1952

SIZE: Approximately Paddle: 14 1/16" x 3 ½"; Canvas Strap: 8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wood, paint, reflective paint, steel rivets, canvas strap

ATTACHMENT: Canvas strap

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAF/USN Korean War collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VAL15 LBDX8/15

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): Paddle shows moderate wear, with blemish on the reflective surface, (see photo), much of the painted details remain intact.
