Korean War, circa 1952 United States Air Force and United States Navy Escape and Evasion reflective life raft paddle. The paddle is painted blue with reflective paint on one side, a piece of canvas strap is riveted to the wooden handle. The handle shows the patent #: DWG "45D18813" and the reverse reads: "IN CASE OF NIGHT RESCUE ONE SURFACE OF THE BLADE HAS BEEN REFLECTORIZED. HOLD TREATED SIDE OF BLADE TOWARD SEARCHLIGHT TO SHOW YOUR LOCATION"
