This is an Iwo Jima Bring-Back Japanese High Officer Army Sword with Family Crest (Mon). The grip is ornately embellished brass with a painted wooden handle wrapped in brass wire with a silver flower family crest embellishment.
VINTAGE:
World War II.
SIZE:Approximately Total length: 35-1/2" Grip: 5" in height x 3-1/4" in width Blade: 28-3/4" in length x 3/4" in width Sheath: 30-1/8" in length x 1-3/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass, steel, painted steel, painted wood, leather, brass wire.
ATTACHMENT:Sheath with ring.
