ARTIFACT: Original commemorative lapel pin commemorating Crociera Aerea Del Decennale XI, this particular flight consisted of 24 seaplanes/flying boats under the command of Italo Balbo (Air Force Minister under Mussolini) and lasted from 01 July to 12 August 1933. The flight was from Rome to the Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago, with a stop in New York on the return flight.

VINTAGE: Circa 1933.

SIZE: 1" wide by .5" high.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enamel on brass.

ATTACHMENT: horizontal pin with simple safety-pin catch.

MARKINGS: stamped "LORIOLI & CASETELI MILANO 121".

ITEM NOTES: This is from a large collection of Italian wings and badges, which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEJX07 L/SABJX 11/09

CONDITION: 6+ (fine): Enamel missing from elements of Italian flag, some wear and light tarnishing, truly a wonderful example of this badge.
