Description
This is a wonderful circa 1930s blazer patch for the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association (I.S.C.Y.R.A.). Established in 1922, the Star Class Association is known as the first one-design racing keel association. The patch is in wool felt embroidered in silk thread and bullion wire. The patch features the association's "historical logo": two earths side by side viewed from two different angles, joined in the center by a red star, with a banner beneath labeled U.S.A.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 3-7/8" in height and 3-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool felt embroidered in silk thread and bullion wire, cloth backing.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto a Blazer.
