Great VERY Early 1860s - 1870s "Stock" Police Shield Badge Hand Engraved with T Pin

This is a Very Old, EARLY "stock" Police Shield Shaped badge with great old "Been There" look to it. The badge was made in the 1860's or 1870's and could have been worn in the Old West or even in Eastern part of the US. The badge's design is beautiful in its simplicity, and the word POLICE emblazoned on its front is hand engraved in an iconic seriphed font.

Circa 1860's - 1870's.

Approximately 1-15/16" in height x 1-15/16" in width.

Silver-plated copper with nickel findings.

Horizontal T-style pin with a C catch.
