Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a great British-made multi-piece felt patch made for the United States 506th Bomb Squadron, 44th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force (aka "The Flying 8-Balls"). This is the style patch that was worn on the Ploesti, Rumania raids in 194The patch shows a winged 8-ball turned bird with a missile.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

4-1/2" diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Red multi-piece felt patch.
