ARTIFACT: Great pair of WWII United States Navy Reserve dog tags with scarce "SV", Selective Volunteer stamp. SV's were selected by the Navy for having special skills, once inducted they were placed on a ship or station that could best utilize his talent without much additional training, also men with good education and high IQ's often bore the SV suffix on their tags. This example of tags read: "FLOYD OSCAR COONS 897-72-39 T11/44 - 0P / USNR - SV"

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" x 1-1/4"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chromed steel

ATTACHMENT: Holes for attachment to chain/rope

MARKINGS: "FLOYD OSCAR COONS 897-72-39 T11/44 - 0P / USNR - SV"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USN collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAX15 LFJX11/15

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The tags show minor to moderate wear, a spot of oxidation to the reverse of one, see photo, overall very fine condition.
