ARTIFACT:

Great pair of WWII United States Navy Reserve dog tags with scarce "SV", Selective Volunteer stamp. SV's were selected by the Navy for having special skills, once inducted they were placed on a ship or station that could best utilize his talent without much additional training, also men with good education and high IQ's often bore the SV suffix on their tags. This example of tags read: "FLOYD OSCAR COONS 897-72-39 T11/44 - 0P / USNR - SV"
