Great Old Ca. 1900 Providence, Rhode Island Capital City Police Badge

Great old circa 1900 Providence, Rhode Island Capital City Police badge. The center of the badge depicts the City of Providence seal showing Pilgrims arriving by boat and being greeted by Native Americans and surrounding reads: "PROVIDENCE POLICE" in raised lettering. The reverse features an applied oval plate with the number: "421" in the center and the catch is broken. The badge is well-worn and looks to have been re-plated in the 1930's during the period of use.
