ARTIFACT:

This is a Great Old Circa 1900 Alameda California Police 6 point Star Badge #54. VERY LIGHTLY etched SPECIAL on back: Probably used later as a Special Police Badge once a newer style Alameda Police Badge came into use.
It would probably polish off if desired, but then some of the great patina would be lost as well.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/2" in height x 3" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel plated nickel with painted letter.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with 'C' catch.

MARKINGS: "SPECIAL"

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+ ): The badge shows moderate to heavy wear, and nice patina.
