This is a Great Old Circa 1900 Alameda California Police 6 point Star Badge #5VERY LIGHTLY etched SPECIAL on back: Probably used later as a Special Police Badge once a newer style Alameda Police Badge came into use.
It would probably polish off if desired, but then some of the great patina would be lost as well.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1900.
SIZE:Approximately 3-1/2" in height x 3" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel plated nickel with painted letter.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with 'C' catch.
