This is a great Old West circa 1900 Badge from Fort Morgan Colorado, in the Circle Cut Out Shield style.
A nice large badge at 2-3/4" in height x 2-3/16" in width. It is made of heavy stamped nickel with a nickel plating, supplied by noted Old West badge supplier Detective Publishing Company of Chicago (badges were actually manufactured by C. H. Hanson, but marked with this supplier's information).
Ft. Morgan was founded in 1887, is the county seat of Morgan County, is about 70 miles NE of Denver, and is on the Overland Trail where it was established south of the ruins of an earlier Army Fort of the same name.
