Description
This is a beautiful example of a WWII mid-late war, Luftwaffe Observer Badge in plated zinc. The badge consists of an oval, slightly convex, wreath of oak and laurel leaves (the right laurel, the left oak). An eagle in a watching attitude is riveted to the wreath with a swastika gripped in its talons.
VINTAGE:Circa 1943-45
SIZE:2 ??" x 2 ??" and weighs 1.2 ounces
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Die forged plated zinc.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with a wire type C catch.

CONDITION:6 (Fine+) Slight bubbling and flaking of plating on reverse, moderate wear to plating on obverse. Still a very displayable example of a rare badge.
