ARTIFACT:
This is a beautiful example of a WWII mid-late war, Luftwaffe pilot badge in plated zinc. The pilot badge takes the form of a massive swooping eagle clutching a swastika in its talons. The eagle is superimposed on a wreath of half laurel (left) and half oak leaves (right). The wreath imagery is carried over from the Imperial flight badge series. The Luftwaffe pilot badge portrays an image of unbridled aggression and ferocity.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Die forged plated zinc.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical kick pin with a wire type C catch.

7+ (Very Fine+) more than 85% of original plating remains. Very light wear.
