Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a great circa late 1930s Ventura County, California Deputy Sheriff badge numbered 100Ventura County abuts the Pacific and is part of Greater Los Angeles. The badge is a six-pointed star with the California grizzly bear at center, blue enameled lettering and fantastic decorative embellishments along the border. It was made by LA Stamp & Stationery Company.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-7/16" in height and 2-3/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

1003 on front; LA Stamp & Staty Co. (LA Stamp & Stationery Company mark) on reverse.
