Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1940s Santa Barbara County, California Deputy Sheriff badge. The badge is a six-point star with blue enameled lettering and shows the California grizzly bear at center. The badge was made by Los Angeles Stamp & Stationery Company and has a maker mark on reverse.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 2-1/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick pin with forked locking catch.

MARKINGS:

LA STAMP & STATY CO. on reverse.
