Description

ARTIFACT:

Great, huge 1920's automobile badge for an Under Sheriff of Rensselaer County, New York. The center of the nickeled and painted bronze badge features the New York State Seal in the center against a red oval disc in nice raised detail. The automobile badge reads: "UNDER SHERIFF RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y." in red painted detail. The term 'Under Sheriff' is an antiquated term and 'Deputy Sheriff' is now the common nomenclature.
