Great, combat carried WWII Heart Shield Bible inscribed on the front to original owner: "JOHN E. KENNEDY" and bookmark of Enrollment to the Shrine of Saint Anne De Beaupre in Quebec, Canada. The protective 'heart shield' cover of the bible reads: "FOR GOD AND OUR COUNTRY" diagonal in the center and along the bottom is engraved: "JOHN E. KENNEDY". The inside cover reads: "THE HEARTH SHIELD BIBLE Fits snuggly in uniform pocket. THE ENGRAVED GOLD-PLATED STEEL FRONT COVER PROTECTS HIS HEART". The book mark shows a saintly depiction on the front and reads: "SAINT ANNE de BEAUPRE PRAY FOR US", the reverse reads: "ENROLLMENT IN THE SHRINE OF GOOD SAINT ANNE DE BEUPRE" and shows Kennedy's name and the enrollment date of: "AUG 21, 1943".
