This is gorgeous circa 1917 United States Air Service Junior Military Aviator or Observer Sweetheart Pin. It has an iconic USAS half wing riveted onto a gilt bronze Signal Corps Insignia, since the Air Service was part of the Signal Corps at that time.
VINTAGE:Circa 1917.
SIZE:Approximately 1" in width x 1-1/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold filled bronze, sterling silver wing.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with C-type catch.

CONDITION:8+ (Excellent): Little to light wear, the wing has patinated beautifully.
