ARTIFACT:
This is a fantastic World War II era Model Cover-Alls (overalls) workwear uniform as worn by Civil Defense Rescue Squad N.W. #23A. The suit has great chain-stitched details, including the worker's initials, and a handmade chain-stitched Civil Defense Reserve patch upon one shoulder. The tag reads Size 42 but these will fit someone 6' 1" tall, size 44L. The overalls are in excellent condition. They have two breast pockets, two angled pockets, two rear pockets, a "paintbrush" pocket and a utility loop at the side of the leg.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
42 (will fit 6' 1" person, size 44L): approximately 23" from armpit to armpit; 64" length from center of back collar to hem; 18-1/2" from shoulder to shoulder along back; just under 23" from shoulder seam to end of cuff; inseam: 32".
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Sanforized cotton, embroidered in cotton thread; patch: twill embroidered in cotton thread.
ATTACHMENT:
Buttons down past the fly, buttons at cuffs, snap on breast pocket.
MARKINGS:
WLR chain-stitched initials; MODEL Sanforized Shrunk FOR PERMANENT FIT FABRIC SHRINKAGE NOT MORE THAN 1"(?) COVER-ALLS L S0047 S 42 on label; MODEL on snap.
