This is a rare World War II Civil Defense salvage badge. The badge is a white triangle bearing the letters CDV inside a blue circle with a border reading SALVAGE.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" height and 1-1/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plastic with brass pin.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin and folded lip for attachment to collar.
MARKINGS:WHITEHEAD-HOAG NEWARK N.J.
