Description

ARTIFACT:

Fabulous, huge clan badge for MacDonald of Clanranald in silver. The outer edge of the clan badge reads: "DHANDEON.CO.HEIRIGHA" "ALL HOPE IS CONSTANT IN THEE". The crest is a triple-towered castle and rising from the center tower, a dexter arm in armor embowed grasping a sword. The date marks are obscured, the badge is circa 1870's ??? 1890's.

Silver

Horizontal pin with 'C' type catch

MARKINGS:

Two marks on reverse near base of castle, obscured
