ARTIFACT: Fabulous, huge clan badge for MacDonald of Clanranald in silver. The outer edge of the clan badge reads: "DHANDEON.CO.HEIRIGHA" "ALL HOPE IS CONSTANT IN THEE". The crest is a triple-towered castle and rising from the center tower, a dexter arm in armor embowed grasping a sword. The date marks are obscured, the badge is circa 1870's ??? 1890's.

VINTAGE: Circa 1870's to 1890's

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4" x 2-1/2"


ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with 'C' type catch

MARKINGS: Two marks on reverse near base of castle, obscured

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Scottish clan badge collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MFEX16 LFJJX2/16 SFJJX10/18

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The badge shows minor to moderate wear and tarnish, overall excellent condition.
