Extremely Rare Ca. 1900 US Lighthouse Service Bullion Hat Badge

Extremely rare circa 1900 United States Lighthouse Service (USLHS) bullion hat badge on remnant of original hat band. The Lighthouse Service merged with the United States Coast Guard in 193The badge is exquisitely detailed with bullion embroidered navy blue wool felt depicting a lighthouse surrounded by waves and the letters: "U. S. L. H. S." The reverse of the badge features a silk backing.
