ARTIFACT: Extremely rare circa 1900 United States Lighthouse Service (USLHS) bullion hat badge on remnant of original hat band. The Lighthouse Service merged with the United States Coast Guard in 1939. The badge is exquisitely detailed with bullion embroidered navy blue wool felt depicting a lighthouse surrounded by waves and the letters: "U. S. L. H. S." The reverse of the badge features a silk backing.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900

SIZE: Approximately 4" x 3"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bullion embroidered wool felt, elastic band

ATTACHMENT: Elastic band (no longer sewn together)

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Badge shows light wear, but overall moderate tarnish giving it a gorgeous patina.
