This is an extremely rare 1870s American Express Company messenger badge. The badge is octagonal with an imploring dog at center and reads AMERICAN EXPRESS CO.

Circa 1870s.

2-3/16" height and 2-3/16" width.

Plated brass.

Vertical kick pin with "C" catch.
