This is a extremely rare circa World War I or 1920s Romanian Air Force pilot badge. The lightweight badge is a finely detailed eagle bearing the cypher of Ferdinand I, a back-to-back double "F". King Ferdinand I of Romania reigned from 1914 until his death in 1927.
Approximately 2-5/16" in height x 1-3/4" width
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Silver plated nickel (Tombak).
Horizontal pin with tongue-style catch.
This is from a foreign militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBEJX20 LAFIEX04/21/20
8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge shows some small areas of light wear and tarnish.
GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
