Description
This is an early officer badge for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The badge shows an avenging angel staying the hand of a man beating a horse at center and reads THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS LICENSE 3 OFFICER.
VINTAGE:Circa 1910s.
SIZE:3-1/16" height and 2-1/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass with painted lettering (would have been originally plated with nickel, but was refurbished in 1930s).
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with drop-in locking swivel catch (refurbished in 1930s).

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): Badge shows light abrasions and the painted areas of the lettering have worn away.
