ARTIFACT: This is an early officer badge for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The badge shows an avenging angel staying the hand of a man beating a horse at center and reads THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS LICENSE 3 OFFICER.

VINTAGE: Circa 1910s.

SIZE: 3-1/16" height and 2-1/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chrome-plated brass with painted lettering (would have been originally plated with nickel, but was refurbished in 1930s).

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with drop-in locking swivel catch (refurbished in 1930s).

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a humanitarian collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJX00 LBDEX6/10 SBDEX8/12

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Badge shows light abrasions and the painted areas of the lettering have worn away.
