This is a circa early 1970s pilot hat badge 3rd issue Type II for the Flying Tiger Line. The airline was started in Los Angeles, California by ten former American Volunteer Group members in 1947, and it operated until 198The badge shows a closed "T" at the center of a camera shutter-like design.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1970's.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/4" in height x 2-11/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated oxidized brass with a laquer finish.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutch-backs.
MARKINGS:None.
