Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa early to mid-1960s 3rd Issue, Type 1 Logo pilot tie bar pin for the Flying Tiger Line, which began in 1945 as the first commercial air cargo company in the US and was later a military charter outfit until 198The logo is a wheel with a capital T at the center, and is beautifully enameled in red and blue. The "T" at center consists of an arrow and two small triangles, all surrounded by a circular border similar to a camera shutter.

VINTAGE:

Circa early-mid-1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 3/4" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Tie bar.
