ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1950 2nd issue hat badge for Flying Tiger Line, which began in 1945 as the first commercial air cargo company in the US and was later a military charter outfit until 1989. The badge is a wing with a blue and red center showing a plane roaring like a tiger. It was made in sterling silver by Balfour.

VINTAGE: Circa 1950.

SIZE: About 1-13/16" in height and 2-9/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing with two stabilization posts.

MARKINGS: LGB (Balfour maker mark) STERLING.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Badge has spots of moderate wear and tarnish.
