ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1980 captain or check pilot wing 5th issue for the Flying Tigers Airlines, originally the Flying Tiger Line, which began in 1945 as the first commercial air cargo company in the US and later became a military charter outfit until 1989. The wing shows the head of a snarling tiger beneath a wreathed star, which denotes pilot status.

VINTAGE: Circa 1980.

SIZE: About 7/8" in height and 3-3/16" in length.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Two clutch-back posts.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airline collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-RLB-RCJL11/93 LAGEX9/10 SAGEX07/07/20

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent): The wing has very light wear and tarnish.
