Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an early 1960s hand-painted resin plaque for the USS Tullibee SSN-597, the smallest American nuclear attack submarine. The ship was built at Groton, Connecticut in 1958 and launched April 27, 1960. The plaque reads VENATOR-NECATOR (hunter-killer). The border is the highest point of the plaque and the crest body is scooped out with King Triton and a submarine in relief.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 7-7/16" in height and 6-1/8" in width and 7/16" in depth.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Hand-painted resin.
