This is an early 1960s jacket patch for the United States Navy's Attack Squadron 44 (VA-44), also known as the "Hornets". The patch is crest-shaped and shows a pair of "4" playing cards and a banged-up hornet. This version of the patch was worn starting in 1963.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 5" in height and 4-7/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in multi-colored silk/cotton/polyester threads.

CONDITION:8+ (Excellent): The patch has just about no wear and excellent original coloring.
