ARTIFACT: This is a circa early 1950s pilot hat badge second issue, Type I for Transocean Air Lines (TALOA). TALOA operated from 1946 until 1960, and was the first aviation entity with multiple companies under its umbrella. The badge is in sterling silver with a gold-filled center globe. It was made by Granat Brothers.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 2-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver, gold fill.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization post.

MARKINGS: 1/10 10K GF (above post); STERLING GRANAT BROS.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some light to medium wear and tarnish, mostly on reverse. .
